When 130,000 Troops Come Back From Iraq Will Crime Go Up?

Crime statistics have been very low for many years and some say this is due largely in part to the fact that the unemployment in the United States is so low. Other say it is perhaps due to the number of young men in the military over in Iraq right now? It could be some of both of these issues actually. Recently a couple of members of a think tank discussed this issue and one stated;

Well in my thoughts on Criminal Behavior, reptilian brain, etc. It appears to me that Politicians, salesmen, entrepreneurs, police men, actors, lawyers, soldiers, athletes all have jobs which will require certain parts of that part of the human species brain. So, with crime rates I have considered when people who want to have a war or kill join the military and leave they are involved in Killing for a living basically and thus crime rates state side will go down. Had they stayed a percentage of them would have committed crimes. While wherever they go might go up if there is nothing to KILL?

The other member stated; Well, yes, I have thought here much and have developed personal theories that I use in judging character. Almost to the point of noticing that many times those who are on the enforcement side of human societies are the criminal type thinkers. Or use their brains in a way, which might cause them to also be more apt by percentages to cause crimes. Indeed this would also allow them to be better at catching criminals as they think the same way and could second guess the criminals intentions.

It sure is an interesting question; When 130,000 Troops Come Back From Iraq Will Crime Go Up? An interesting question indeed and a question we may soon find out and this will make such a case study even more relevant. So, perhaps we should consider all this in 2006.
