Your Mattress Must Be Right for You

Sleep is an essential part of life and a lot of us don't get enough of it! In today's fast-paced society, stress or for instance Alzheimer's disease, are major factors in not getting enough sleep. A poor matress is another big reason! Although sleep is essential for good health, some need more and some seem to require less. We do not know exactly how and why sleep happens. Medical science believes that sleep helps to restore the body and brain for future activity. Of course, having the right matress is essential for a good night's sleep. Many people around the world do not have a comfortable place to sleep, and therefore their health suffers.

Over the ages, sleep has attracted many theories and all animals sleep, even babies in the womb. Among the many myths in ancient times, sleep was thought to be when humans flirted with death as their souls wandered and that it was a time when you lost control over your mind. As time progressed, it was later believed that when you were sleeping like on a really great matress, it was a time for complete mental inactivity, or "dead to the world" type of passive state.

As you age, your sleep pattern will change. A 70-year-old person sleeps about six hours on the average and infants sleep about 16 hours a day. Life becomes extremely difficult when you do not get enough sleep, and there are many effects felt as a result of sleep deprivation. Such things as poor reading ability, task performance, poor concentration, and the ability to process information can be affected. Perceptual skills and repetitive skills related to visual patterns also suffer. Industrial and road traffic accidents are more likely to occur when you are tired. Statistics show that between five and 56% of all auto crashes and machine tool accidents are a result of fatigue.

A study done in 1995 revealed that 33% of all subjects studied actually fell asleep while driving and 10% of those had accidents. Also, people have a difficult time studying and learning as a result of sleep deprivation. Try to get a full night's sleep. Purchase a good matress making it a top priority and the quality of your life will be much better!
